A new and popular trend for weddings is having the ceremony at an all-inclusive resort down south. KJ is our destination wedding specialists and has noted some important information and tips below:
How long have you been planning destination weddings?
I started 10 years ago, initially with Sandals Weddings and over time I have expanded to different destinations and resorts.
Why did you choose to become a Destination Wedding Specialist?
I find the whole process of destination wedding booking from the initial meeting to their welcome back greetings very meaningful and rewarding.
What’s your favorite part of the job?
It can be stressful and nervous for brides and grooms to handle a destination wedding on their own. They are not sure of what they want, or even where to start. With my expertise, I can help guide them to choose the right options and it is always very energizing.
Which destination is your favorite and why?
I don’t really have a favorite, as I think the choice of destination is a personal one for each couple. Every destination and every Gazebo offers a different feeling for a unique wedding experience.
Do you have a quick tip for us?
Often when a couple plans their destination wedding, they plan for the maximum number of guests while considering the strictest budget of those attending the wedding to the point that they make so many compromises, it is no longer the wedding of their dreams. Couples need to remember that it is their once-in-a-lifetime event and choose what makes them happy; the guests will respect their choices and send their blessings if they aren’t able to attend and celebrate once the newlyweds return home!

From the moment we first met KJ, we knew she was very knowledgeable about destination weddings and had our best interests in mind. When we were first exploring where we wanted to go, what we needed, and how we would get our guests from all across the country in one place, KJ asked us a series of questions to help us narrow down our resort, our vision and what was most important to us. Once we picked our resort, she contacted a variety of airlines to get us and our guests the best possible deal and travel arrangements, including working with the airline to ensure we could reserve group seats from three separate departure destinations.
